Trekking in Argentina

Bariloche

San Carlos de Bariloche is the principal tourist destination in Patagonia, and the capital of adventure tourism in Argentina. Strategically perched on the edge of the Nahuel Huapi National Park, Bariloche is the gateway to a region of mountains, woods and lakes. The geography and location allow us to participate in a wide variety of activities in any season; alpinism, trekking, snowboarding, skiing, sailing, parascending and rock climbing are among the most popular.

El Chaltén

El Chaltén - Steaming Mountain in native Tehuelche - is a small town found in the south of Argentine Patagonia, surrounded by the impressive Glaciers National Park. The region surrounding it is considered to be one of the most beautiful on the planet by many. It’s a land of lakes, glaciers, rivers and mountains, where the unpredictable Patagonian weather reigns. All of this is watched over by the daunting Fitz Roy, which, along with Cerro Torre, forms the most stunning and most sought after mountain range in Argentina.

Thanks to these majestic neighbours, this tiny town is internationally recognised as one of the best destinations for anyone passionate about adventure sports, such as rock climbing and alpinism, but also for those wishing to explore massive glaciers. The glaciers here form part of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, which is beaten in size only by those of Antartica and Greenland.

All of this makes El Chaltén the perfect base for exploring the region on foot, as well as by boat. Here, we have the opportunity to walk on glaciers, hike near Fitz Roy, camp at the base of Cerro Torre, trek to lakes and soak up the sunrise at the spectacular Laguna de Los Tres (Lake of the Three).
